It shouldn’t be this hard.

When I filed my own N-400, I did what everyone does — I Googled it, downloaded the PDF, and stared at 20 pages of government-speak. I tried two different online services. One charged me $300 and generated a form with wrong answers in it. The other upsold me “legal review” that turned out to be an automated spell check.

That experience made me angry. Not because the forms are hard — they’re not, once you understand what each question actually asks. I was angry because people in a vulnerable, stressful moment were being charged premium prices for tools that didn’t even work properly.
